Silent Words
At the beginning of these works lies the invention of a series of illegible characters and new calligraphic instruments specifically designed for rendering these symbols.
These new calligraphic tools are modelled on familiar pen nibs, pencils and markers in function, but are redesigned for the act of writing with sand, pigments, or liquids. The ritual of writing is reduced to a few fundamental materials and actions, which converge on the picture plane in a unique experiment with the forces of gravity and speed of the gestures executed. The traces of this process constitute the image.

Éstas obras nacen de la invención de una serie de caracteres ilegibles y nuevos instrumentos caligráficos diseñados específicamente para representar estos símbolos.
Estas herramientas caligráficas nuevas se basan en el funcionamiento de plumillas, rotuladores y lápices conocidos, pero son rediseñados para escribir con arena, pigmentos, o agua. El ritual de la escritura se reduce así a unos pocos materiales y acciones fundamentales, que convergen en el plano pictórico en un experimento único con la gravedad y la velocidad del gesto. Las huellas de este proceso constituyen la imagen.
